On December 15th, the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued the weekly report on influenza surveillance in Guangdong Province. Kang Min, the director of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control at the Guangdong Provincial CDC and the chief infectious disease prevention and control expert, pointed out that Guangdong Province entered the influenza season in the 37th week and is currently at a high level of influenza activity. It is expected to continue to fluctuate and increase in the near future. According to past trends, the peak of the outbreak may occur around mid-December. It is recommended that the general public maintain good habits such as washing hands frequently and being hygienic, pay attention to room ventilation, and reduce visits to crowded places with poor ventilation. If necessary, it is advised to wear masks. Zhong Nanshan reminds influenza patients that if they have a fever that does not subside after three days, rapid breathing, severe cough with phlegm, or even coughing up blood, they should seek medical attention immediately.
