Yemeni government forces say that an armed attack by the Southern Transitional Council led to the deaths of 32 people.
The Yemeni government army announced on the evening of the 12th that 32 government soldiers had been killed in an attack launched by armed groups under the Southern Transitional Council in the eastern Hadramout province, with another 45 people injured. The Yemeni Saba News Agency quoted a statement from the General Staff of the government army as saying that the attack resulted in the deaths of 32 government soldiers in the region, with 45 officers and soldiers injured and many others missing. The statement said that these attacks "have no legal or legitimate reason" and accused the attackers of attempting to disrupt the security and stability of Hadramout province and undermine the political process.
