The President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Yang Wanming, visits Sri Lanka.

From December 11th to 13th, Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, led a delegation to visit Sri Lanka at the invitation of the People's Liberation Front Political Bureau member and Sri Lankan Parliament China Friendship Group Chairman and Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Ratnayake, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Herath, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Gamag, and Mayor of Colombo Balataza were met separately. They also held collective discussions with the Chairman of the Sri Lanka-China Society for Social and Cultural Cooperation, Abbessakara, and other responsible persons of Sri Lanka-China friendship organizations to deepen people-to-people exchanges between China and Sri Lanka. The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries stated its willingness to provide assistance to all friendly organizations and support Sri Lanka's flood relief and reconstruction efforts. All parties agreed to fulfill the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Sirisena, to promote grassroots, local, cultural, and youth exchanges between China and Sri Lanka, and to continuously advance the strategic partnership of sincere mutual assistance and friendship between the two countries.
