Former Vice Mayor Dai Xiaoxiao of Hezhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has been expelled from the Chinese Communist Party and removed from public office.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission reported on December 13 that, according to the news from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has launched an investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal issues of Dai Xiaoxiao, former Deputy Mayor of Hezhou City and former Director of the Public Security Bureau of the city. After investigation, it was found that Dai Xiaoxiao had lost his ideal and belief, betrayed his original aspirations and missions, was disloyal and dishonest to the Party, resisted organizational review; disregarded the spirit of the eight-point regulation of the Central Committee, illegally accepted gifts and money, accepted invitations to banquets and trips that could affect the fair execution of official duties; violated the bottom line of integrity, engaged in profit-making activities; violated work discipline, inquired about cases, intervened in disciplinary and law enforcement activities; his personal desires expanded, seeking only profit, turning public power into a tool for personal gain, using his position to benefit others in project contracting, project fund disbursement, and receiving a large amount of illegal property. Dai Xiaoxiao seriously violated the Party's political discipline, integrity discipline, and work discipline, constituted a serious violation of duty, and was suspected of bribery crimes. After the 18th National Congress of the Party, he did not restrain himself, and his actions were serious and had a bad impact, so he should be handled seriously. In accordance with relevant provisions of the "Regulations on Discipline of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Penalties for Public Servants of the People's Republic of China," the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Commission for Discipline Inspection deliberated and reported to the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region for approval, and decided to expel Dai Xiaoxiao from the Party; the Autonomous Region Supervisory Commission will dismiss him from public office; confiscate his ill-gotten gains from violating disciplinary and legal regulations; and transfer the suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial authorities for investigation and prosecution, along with the assets involved.
