Zhejiang province further strengthens the transport management of live pigs and pork products.

Recently, the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Department of Zhejiang Province issued a notice requiring further strengthening of the management of the transportation of live pigs and pig products. It stipulates that except for the eastern region, live pigs for slaughter should be transported "point-to-point" across regions, with a transportation distance of up to 1000 kilometers in principle. The transportation distance will be further adjusted based on the risk of major animal diseases. Pig breeding enterprises holding a "Livestock and Poultry Production and Operation License" from outside the province are allowed to transport breeding pigs and piglets to Zhejiang. Pig products from outside the province that have passed quarantine and meat quality inspections must be reported and imported through designated channels after filing. The notice will come into effect on January 10, 2026.
