Located north of Lima, Peru, Chancay Port is an important project jointly built by China and Peru under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the first smart port in South America. Since its opening on November 14th last year, the throughput and export capacity of Chancay Port have been steadily increasing, rapidly becoming the third largest port in Peru within just one year. "From Chancay to Shanghai" has become a new Eurasian Land-Sea New Channel in the new era. On December 2nd, a group of Peruvian parliamentarians visited Chancay Port with the accompaniment of Chinese Ambassador to Peru, Song Yang. At the port, the Peruvian parliamentarians toured the operation of green and intelligent facilities such as charging piles and control rooms. Chancay Port's various types of operating equipment have a power-driven equipment ratio as high as 90.52%, which not only effectively drives the local economic development in port operations but also significantly reduces carbon emissions.
