Recently, IMAGI INT'L announced a plan to acquire a 67% stake in Beijing Tairan Ruoqing Culture Development Co., Ltd. at an overall valuation of approximately RMB223 million, corresponding to a transaction consideration of about HK$171 million, payable in cash plus consideration shares.
It is understood that Tairan Ruoqing is one of the leading companies in China's film and television visual effects sector, with nearly a decade of deep industry experience and cumulative participation in the production of over a hundred film and television cultural projects. Its core value lies in having completed its transformation from a traditional VFX service provider to a full-stack AI film and television production platform, achieving deep integration of industrialized visual effects processes with its self-developed AI technology system, and establishing a closed-loop full-industry chain from pre-production to end-user applications. In the view of industry observers, this is not an ordinary external acquisition, but a key strategic move by the company to fully transform into the AI film and television sector. The signal significance of this transaction far exceeds the transaction itself: while most players are still relying on general-purpose models to compete on content volume, IMAGI INT'L has decisively taken control of the core production capacity link in AI film and television industrialization.
