RIBOLIFE-B (06938) announced that it has submitted a Phase I clinical trial application in the European Union for RBD3133 Injection, the company's INHBE-targeting siRNA product, for the treatment of overweight and obesity. RBD3133 Injection is designed to selectively silence INHBE (a gene encoding activin E protein). Human genetics studies have shown that individuals carrying naturally occurring loss-of-function variants in INHBE have healthier fat distribution, improved metabolic profiles, and lower predicted risk of coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes. These findings support INHBE as a highly promising therapeutic target for the treatment of obesity and related metabolic diseases. This Phase I study is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of subcutaneous administration of RBD3133 in overweight or obese subjects. The trial will provide the first-in-human evaluation of RBD3133 and will lay the foundation for further clinical development. RBD3133 represents a key milestone in the company's siRNA product development portfolio in the cardiovascular and metabolic disease area, and has the potential to become a cornerstone drug for the treatment of weight-loss-related cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. As the company's first drug candidate in the obesity treatment field, RBD3133 reflects the company's strategic focus on developing innovative drugs for a large patient population with significant unmet medical needs.
