Mongol Mining (00975) announced that in the first quarter of 2025, the total coal production from the Group's UHG and BN mines was 3.6734 million tons, an increase of 3% year-on-year and unchanged quarter-on-quarter. The Group processed a total of 3.7495 million tons of coking coal to produce 2.11 million tons of washed coking coal products, a decrease of 2% year-on-year and an increase of 1% quarter-on-quarter. In the first quarter of 2025, the Group's operating subsidiaries ER and KEX sold a total of 1.6004 million tons of washed coking coal products, including 1.0794 million tons of washed hard coking coal, 0.722 million tons of washed semi-soft coking coal, and 0.4487 million tons of washed medium ash semi-hard coking coal. Compared to the same period in 2024, this represents a decrease of 3% year-on-year and a decrease of 15% quarter-on-quarter. The Group holds a 50% stake in Erdene Mongol LLC (EM), which is currently developing the Bayan Khundii (BKH) gold mine located in Bayankhongor Province, Mongolia. Gold production is expected to start in the second half of 2025, with an expected total production of 476,000 ounces of gold over the mine's expected lifespan. As of the end of the quarter ending March 31, 2025, EM continues to advance the construction of the gold processing plant and site support facilities, including electricity, heating, and water supply infrastructure, laboratories, warehouses, chemical and explosive material storage, offices, and accommodation camps. According to the project development schedule, construction progress reached approximately 86.5% by the end of the first quarter of 2025. The commissioning process is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
