Ganfeng Lithium Group (01772) announced that it has signed a cooperation development intention agreement with Lithium Argentina AG (referred to as "LAR"), agreeing to jointly develop the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes salt lake basin located in Argentina. The salt lake basin mainly consists of three lithium salt lake projects, including the PPG lithium salt lake project owned entirely by the company, the jointly owned PG lithium salt lake project (company holding 14.89% equity, LAR holding 85.11%), and the SDLP lithium salt lake project (company holding 35% equity, LAR holding 65%).
The intention agreement establishes the cooperation framework between the two parties, planning to integrate the three lithium salt lake projects in the basin into a new project (tentatively named "PPGS Lithium Salt Lake Project"), and develop a phased development plan for the integrated PPGS Lithium Salt Lake Project. The production process plan for the PPGS Lithium Salt Lake Project will utilize the direct lithium extraction method, with a future planned annual production capacity of up to 150,000 tons of LCE. Depending on customer preferences and cost optimization, the products of the PPGS Lithium Salt Lake Project will include lithium chloride or lithium carbonate.
The company will further deepen its long-term strategic partnership with LAR, expanding on the existing foundation to drive future development plans. Leveraging the company's expertise in lithium processing, combined with high-quality lithium resources, they will jointly develop and unlock the potential and value of the projects.
