The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) recently announced that global semiconductor sales in February 2025 reached $54.9 billion, a 17.1% increase from $46.9 billion in February 2024, but a 2.9% decrease from $56.5 billion in January 2025. The monthly sales figures are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) and represent a three-month moving average. In terms of revenue, SIA represents 99% of the U.S. semiconductor industry and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip companies.
SIA President and CEO John Neuffer stated, "Despite a slight decrease in monthly sales, the global semiconductor industry set a new record for monthly sales in February, driving strong year-over-year growth. Sales have increased by over 17% year-over-year for 10 consecutive months, with the Americas region experiencing a nearly 50% year-over-year growth."
By region, sales increased year-over-year in the Americas (48.4%), Asia-Pacific/All Other Regions (10.8%), China (5.6%), and Japan (5.1%), but decreased in Europe (-8.1%). In February, sales declined month-over-month in Asia-Pacific/All Other Regions (-0.1%), Europe (-2.4%), China (-3.1%), Japan (-3.1%), and the Americas (-4.6%).
