On Tuesday, Intel Corporation (INTC.US) fell nearly 3% to $22.05. It is reported that Intel Corporation had claimed that its Intel 18A (1.8nm) CPU in Panther Lake and Clearwater Forest had successfully started up and was in good condition. However, recent news suggests that the yield of this process is only 10%. Nevertheless, Intel Corporation's new CEO, Chen Liwu, stated that the 18A process technology is still progressing as planned, approaching the first batch of external wafer starts, and it is expected that the Panther Lake processor using this process will start mass production in the second half of this year.
Additionally, Chen Liwu stated on Monday that he will divest assets that are unrelated to the company's mission and develop new products, including custom semiconductors, to better align with customers. However, he did not specify which of Intel Corporation's businesses he believes are no longer core to its future. He also mentioned that due to the US federal government seeking to maintain America's leadership in the semiconductor field, the Trump administration is prepared to assist Intel Corporation.
