On April 1st, a spokesperson for Xiaomi (01810) posted on Weibo in response to the news that "a Xiaomi SU7 was involved in a serious traffic accident on the highway resulting in the death of 3 people." Xiaomi stated that the incident occurred on a road section undergoing construction and repair, with road barriers closing the lane and diverting traffic to the opposite lane. The vehicle detected an obstacle, issued a warning, and began to decelerate. The driver then took control of the vehicle, entered manual driving mode, continued to decelerate, and steered the vehicle. The vehicle subsequently collided with a cement barrier, with the system confirming a speed of around 97km/h before the impact. After the collision, Xiaomi immediately contacted the owner of the vehicle and confirmed that the owner was not the driver at the time. They also called for emergency rescue for the occupants, contacted the police, and contacted the 120 emergency service. Subsequently, the police arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.
