The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the national standard "Residential Project Code" on March 31. The code will be implemented from May 1 this year, requiring residential projects to be constructed with safety, comfort, greenness, and intelligence as goals, following the principles of "economically reasonable, durable and safe; people-oriented, healthy and comfortable; tailored to local conditions, green and low-carbon; technology-enabled, smart and convenient". According to the code, newly constructed residential buildings must have a minimum floor height of 3 meters, and residential buildings with 4 floors or more must have elevators installed. It also includes requirements for improving the sound insulation performance of walls and floors, increasing the clear width of doors and bathroom doors, raising the height of railings in balconies and other open spaces, ensuring public mobile communication signals cover public spaces and elevator cabins, and installing outdoor air conditioning units on dedicated platforms. Additionally, it stipulates requirements for heating and air conditioning facilities in different climate zones. This article was originally published by Xinhua News Agency. Editor: Liu Xuan.
