Hong Kong Government: HKD $92.3 billion deficit recorded in the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 fiscal year.

The Hong Kong government today (March 31) announced the financial position for the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 fiscal year (up to February 28, 2025). Total expenditure and revenue for the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 fiscal year were HK$670.3 billion and HK$475.7 billion respectively. After taking into account the proceeds from issuing government bonds of HK$124.3 billion and the repayment of government bonds of HK$22 billion in principal, a deficit of HK$92.3 billion was recorded for the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 fiscal year. The fiscal reserves stood at HK$642.3 billion as of February 28, 2025.
