"The Renaissance Dam" hydroelectric power station has been completed in Ethiopia.
The largest hydroelectric power station in Africa, the "Renaissance Dam," was completed on the 9th in the Benishangul-Gumuz region of northwestern Ethiopia. It is understood that the total installed capacity of the "Renaissance Dam" is 5150 megawatts. The dam is located on the Blue Nile River, one of the two main tributaries of the Nile River, near the border between Ethiopia and Sudan. The Ethiopian government laid the foundation for the "Renaissance Dam" in 2011, and completed the dam filling in three stages in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
