Regarding hot issues such as campus food supervision, the General Administration of Market Supervision has issued a response.
Every time the school season starts, the market supervision department will announce relevant measures and special action arrangements for the supervision of campus meals. What practical measures have been introduced this year? Wang Qiuping introduced that since the beginning of the school year, the market supervision department has focused on three key areas of strengthened supervision: "Firstly," to see if the principal is fulfilling their responsibilities seriously. In the first week of school, whether the principal accompanies the first meal, whether a school council meeting is held in the cafeteria within the first month of school to address issues on site, and whether efforts are made to improve cafeteria equipment and dining environment. "Secondly," to inspect whether the purchasing inspection is strict. Inspecting whether the school implements these inspection systems, whether food raw materials acceptance is done by designated personnel, and whether food samples are retained properly. "Thirdly," to supervise whether the processing process is standardized. Encouraging schools to strictly control key points such as raw material storage, prevention and control of vectors and pathogens, processing and production, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and tableware washing and disinfection. Further improving the recall system for retail imported food in cross-border e-commerce, weaving a tighter and stronger "safety net" for food safety. Wang Qiuping introduced that the General Administration of Market Supervision, in conjunction with the Ministry of Commerce, has drafted a "Notice on Further Strengthening the Supervision of Recall of Imported Food in Cross-border E-commerce Retail", and will solicit public opinions. Wang Qiuping said that the draft focuses on three key points: firstly, to ensure accountability and leave no gaps. Cross-border e-commerce enterprises are required to establish recall systems and truly shoulder the responsibility for food safety. Secondly, to execute the recall. Cross-border e-commerce enterprises must entrust a designated partner within the country to assist in the recall, mainly to solve the regulatory problem of "not being able to find people". Thirdly, platform supervision to ensure effective measures. Once quality and safety issues arise, cross-border e-commerce platforms must urge enterprises and partners to proactively recall products. For companies that fail to fulfill their responsibilities, the platform may suspend their cross-border e-commerce business if necessary, ensuring that the "platform promotes implementation and supervision has a grip".
