Market 100% betting on the Fed restarting rate cuts in September, probability of a 50 basis point cut increasing

The Zhtng Finance APP learned that as the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on September 17 approaches, market traders are leaving room for the Federal Reserve to cut rates more aggressively. According to data from the CME Group's FedWatch tool, the market expects there to be an 88% probability of the Federal Reserve cutting rates by 25 basis points next week. However, there are still 12% of traders betting that the Federal Reserve will choose to cut rates by 50 basis points in one go, a magnitude of rate cut that last occurred at a meeting in September 2024. Almost no investors believe that the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged.
