As Typhoon Tapah approaches, the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau issued a No. 8 Northeast Gale Signal at 9 p.m. on September 7, expecting the No.8 Gale signal to be maintained until 10 a.m. on the 8th. The Civil Protection Operations Centre of Macao announced that, in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region to ensure the safety of citizens' lives and property, Macao entered a real-time alert state starting from 9 p.m. on the 7th, and opened 4 evacuation centers. The Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR government announced that primary, secondary, kindergarten, and special education classes will be suspended all day on the 8th. During the No. 8 signal period, public buses, special taxis, light rail, and sea passenger flights in Macao are suspended. The Macao Civil Aviation Authority stated that, so far, 51 flights to and from Macao have been delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled.
