On September 7th, the Shenyang Municipal Disease Prevention and Control Bureau issued a notice: On August 31st, the school clinic of Shenyang Normal University successively treated a group of students with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. The relevant departments of Liaoning Province, Shenyang City, and the school immediately opened a green channel for medical treatment, organized medical teams to enter the school to conduct rounds of medical services, and classified and treated patients. In accordance with the level 3 emergency response for public health incidents, the disease control department carried out multiple rounds of disinfection at the contaminated sites, mobilized professional forces to conduct tracing and analysis to identify the source of infection, and sampled and tested suspected contaminated items, environments, and personnel to determine the contaminated site. Through epidemiological investigations and combined with on-site inspections of the water supply system and laboratory testing results, it was comprehensively determined that the incident was a sudden public health event caused by contamination of the self-owned well water tank in the school's third living area by the Norovirus. The self-owned well has now been closed and controlled. The school has coordinated with the water department to ensure the students' water supply and has started organizing the municipal water supply network connection project.
