The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The resolution was jointly proposed by China and other countries. The resolution affirms the constructive role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in ensuring peace and sustainable development, promoting regional cooperation, strengthening good neighborly relations, and mutual trust. It also suggests that the various specialized agencies, organizations, programs, and funds within the United Nations system cooperate with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to jointly implement relevant programs to achieve their goals.
