Midea Group recently announced that based on the company's strategic planning needs, the board of directors has appointed Wang Jianguo as the company's Chief Executive Officer and he will no longer serve as the Vice President of the company. This is the first time Midea has set up the position of Chief Executive Officer since Fang Hongbo became the Chairman of Midea Group. Previously, there were reports indicating "Fang Hongbo will retire when he turns 60 and complete the historic mission of achieving 500 billion yuan in revenue before that." Fang Hongbo's planned retirement in two years has attracted attention from the industry. In a communication with Sina Technology tonight, Midea Group responded by saying, "Due to the company's strategic planning needs, the position of Group CEO has been added to assist the Group President in handling related work." Midea did not respond to questions regarding Fang Hongbo's retirement. (Sina Technology)
