The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles issued a consular reminder on how Chinese students in the consulate area can prevent and respond to entry obstructions. Currently, it is the beginning of the school season in the consulate area, and recently some Chinese students have been blocked from entering the U.S. at border crossings in the southwest. The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles has provided assistance to those affected. The Consulate General once again reminds Chinese students in the consulate area to pay attention to U.S. entry requirements, ensuring that their Chinese passports are valid for more than 6 months, their student visas and I-20 SEVIS documents are valid, and to carry a physical copy of their I-20 form. When returning to school, students should also ensure that the travel authorization section on the second page of the I-20 form is signed and confirmed by school officials. During their studies, students should maintain academic progress, abide by laws and school regulations, adhere to academic ethics, and maintain a valid student status.
