On September 4, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Keqiang met with the Chief Executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, Ho Iat Seng, in Beijing to deepen cooperation in the field of industry and information technology. Li Keqiang stated that Macau has unique advantages in "one country, two systems" with "internal and external connectivity", abundant innovative resources, and broad development space. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology resolutely implements the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Hong Kong and Macau affairs, comprehensively and accurately implements the principle of "one country, two systems", and actively supports Macau in better integrating into the national development. It is hoped that both sides will further strengthen communication and cooperation, focusing on accelerating the promotion of new industrialization, enhancing strategic planning, construction of technology research and development industrial parks, nurturing technology enterprises, and developing new productive forces in a targeted manner to achieve high-quality development.
Ho Iat Seng stated that Macau is vigorously promoting the strategy of moderately diversifying the economy and will actively seize the opportunities of national development, proactively connect with national development strategies, and deepen exchange and cooperation in the fields of industry and information technology with the mainland. Macau will also strengthen the role positioning of a "precise connector", continuously enrich and enhance the content of the China-Portugal platform, and make greater contributions to the country's higher level of opening up to the outside world.
