This move marks the bank's bold entry into the crowded banking market of Europe's largest economy. The American banking giant has been preparing for this project in recent years, conducting multiple rounds of recruitment, but has always remained discreet about the specific timing. J.P. Morgan had already launched the Chase digital retail bank in the UK in 2021. Germany will become its second European market to enter. At the same time, a foreign bank in Spain has also announced plans to launch a digital bank in Germany.
