According to reports from Japanese media such as NHK, on September 4th local time, a Japan Airlines plane experienced mechanical failure in the air and was forced to make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. It was reported that at around 8 o'clock local time, the plane took off from New Chitose Airport heading to Haneda Airport. Around 8:30, the left engine of the aircraft failed and stopped working, prompting the pilot to return to the departure airport. The plane landed at New Chitose Airport around 9 o'clock using only the right engine. There were 285 passengers on board and no injuries were reported. The aircraft model is reported to be an Airbus A350, and Japan Airlines will conduct an investigation into the cause of the malfunction (Global Network).
