Japanese media: One of Japan Airlines' aircraft experienced a left engine failure in mid-air and had to make an emergency landing using the right engine.
According to reports from Japanese media such as NHK, on September 4 local time, a Japan Airlines plane experienced mechanical problems in the air and was forced to make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. It was reported that around 8:00 am local time, the plane took off from New Chitose Airport en route to Haneda Airport. Around 8:30 am, the left engine of the aircraft malfunctioned and stopped working, prompting the pilot to return to the airport. The aircraft made an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport around 9:00 am using only the right engine, with all 285 passengers on board remaining unharmed. The aircraft involved was an Airbus A350, and Japan Airlines will conduct an investigation into the cause of the malfunction.
