Meta Platforms' Mark Zuckerberg, Apple's Tim Cook, and Microsoft's Satya Nadella, among other tech industry leaders, are expected to attend an artificial intelligence (AI) event hosted by US First Lady Melania Trump on Thursday local time, followed by a dinner reception hosted by US President Donald Trump in the newly renovated Rose Garden. A White House official said that other attendees are expected to include Sam Altman from OpenAI, Sergey Brin and Sundar Pichai from Alphabet, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Alexandr Wang, who recently joined the Meta AI project, is also among the invitees. Last month, the First Lady announced that she would be launching a presidential challenge to encourage students to use emerging AI technologies to find solutions to community challenges. The White House stated that this initiative will also encourage educators to incorporate AI in the classroom.
