Instagram has launched a dedicated app for the Apple iPad for the first time.
Meta's Instagram has launched its first app exclusively for Apple iPad, encouraging more video consumption with a new design version. The iPad app will open directly into Reels, unlike the Instagram mobile app which opens to the default photo and video feed. Users can still browse through the traditional photo and video feed by swiping through pages, and the iPad version also includes features such as Stories and Direct Messages. Over the years, users have been requesting an iPad version, but Instagram has not developed one, partly due to technical challenges.
