Daphne Yiu Wah Ying, director of the Research Department of DBS in Hong Kong and strategist for the Hong Kong and China stock markets, stated that Hong Kong stocks may enter a consolidation phase in the near term due to tightening liquidity and other factors, but remain attractive in the long term. She pointed out that despite the Hang Seng Index rising by about 26% since the beginning of the year, the discount on valuations compared to US stocks and the MSCI Asia Pacific Index has continued to widen over the past few months. Ying also predicted that the Hang Seng Index will reach 26,000 points in the next 12 months, a level last seen in 2021.
