Trump criticized Musk's 82 openness and predicted that the old money would return to the Republican Party.
US President Donald Trump openly discussed his high-profile rift with Elon Musk this year, saying that the former ally had no choice but to return to the Republican Party. "I don't think he had a choice," Trump said in an interview recorded on Tuesday on the Scott Jennings show, adding that Musk's political choices were between the Republican Party and the "radical left lunatics." Despite this, Trump mostly praised his former donor and downplayed their differences. He also insisted that the billionaire had issues to address. "He's a good guy. He made a mistake, it's okay, because, you know, that's just one thing," Trump said about Tesla's CEO. Trump also stated that Musk is "80% a super genius, and the other 20% has some issues. Once he addresses those 20% of issues, he's doing great, but he's hit a few roadblocks." Musk has not yet responded to requests for comment.
