The Secretary-General of the World Trade Organization, Okonjo-Iweala, stated that due to the most serious destruction of the international trading system since World War II, the proportion of global trade conducted under WTO rules has decreased to 72%, and may further decrease. She warned that as the global trade surge driven by advance stocking in the first half of this year begins to decline, world trade may gradually begin to feel the impact of tariffs until 2026.
