The White House: Golf caddies and others will be exempt from tip taxes.

According to a list released by the White House on Tuesday, dozens of professionals in various categories, including waiters, beauticians, golf caddies, event DJs, and dancers, are exempt from paying taxes on the tips they earn. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump signed into law a tax bill that included tax breaks for tip earners, as part of the Republican tax cuts and spending reductions. This list, released on the X platform, may still need to be formally approved by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service - the two agencies responsible for establishing and enforcing federal tax regulations. The tax-free work list covers a range of industries, including food and beverage, hospitality, transportation and delivery, beauty, tourism, entertainment, and gambling, addressing a key issue before tax season. The list also includes some non-traditional job categories, such as "digital content creators," "home maintenance and repair workers," and "self-taught teachers," which are less commonly associated with tipping practices and may give workers an opportunity to reduce their taxes by categorizing more income as tips rather than wages.
