European Central Bank board member Muller believes that there are conditions for keeping policy unchanged at the meeting next week.
European Central Bank Governing Council member Madis Muller stated that, considering that inflation is close to the target and the economy is showing resilience, the central bank conditions are available to maintain interest rates unchanged next week. When asked about expectations for keeping borrowing costs unchanged at the meeting on September 11, the Governor of the Bank of Estonia told Bloomberg News that this view "makes sense" because economic activity may gradually recover. "It is reasonable to adopt a wait-and-see attitude, continue to monitor economic data in the coming months, and adjust decisions when necessary," he said.
