The Declaration of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Further Strengthening Cooperation in Science and Technology Innovation has been issued. It mentions that member states will take the following actions based on the principles of voluntary participation and mutual cooperation: strengthen existing communication and exchange of science and technology innovation policies, make good use of the mechanism of the Meeting of Ministers of Science and Technology of the SCO member states, promote strategic communication and practical cooperation in the field of science and technology; promote research projects in the field of artificial intelligence, establish joint laboratories, and hold academic conferences, and implement a number of demonstration projects of artificial intelligence applications in agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, and other fields; on a voluntary basis, deepen the integration of scientific and technological resources of all parties, and exchange experiences in science and technology innovation policies and practices among countries.
