On September 3, the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan will be held in Beijing. Some people in the Democratic Progressive Party have threatened that former officials of the Kuomintang who participate in activities related to the mainland will be at risk, and that as long as significant figures go, they will be investigated. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said in response to questions from reporters that the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan was a victory for the whole nation and an important part of the world's victory in the anti-fascist war. In order to achieve national liberation and the recovery of Taiwan, to defeat Japanese fascism, all Chinese sons and daughters, including compatriots in Taiwan, have made significant sacrifices and contributions. Representatives from various sectors in Taiwan coming to Beijing to participate in the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan is a manifestation of holding high the banner of national righteousness, and upholding justice and conscience. This is legitimate, helps both sides of the Taiwan Strait to remember history, honor the martyrs, promote the spirit of the great War of Resistance, and work together for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The Democratic Progressive Party authorities treat this as a major threat, obstructing in every way and threatening intimidation, completely abandoning a nationalist position, betraying justice and conscience, seriously violating the will of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and seriously harming the feelings of both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
