Journalists learned from the Food Safety Special News Conference held by the State Administration for Market Regulation that the new version of the National Standard for Good Manufacturing Practices of Health Foods is scheduled to be released soon, which will further improve the quality of health foods. The new version of the standard has significant adjustments and includes informative appendices. In terms of protecting consumer health, it imposes higher requirements on raw materials and production process management. For example, companies are required to conduct production process validation to ensure that production processes and operating procedures achieve the expected results. Companies are also required to verify the quality and safety control requirements of products and the cleanliness level of operational areas, determine the reasonable monitoring frequency of production environment indicators, and ensure that the production environment continues to meet the standard requirements. The relevant person in charge of the National Health Commission stated that the new standard, as a mandatory national standard for food safety, provides clearer and more detailed legal basis for supervision work. It is closely connected to the requirements for registration and filing management of health foods in terms of technical requirements for raw materials, excipients, packaging materials, and production processes, increasing the comprehensive efficiency of health food management.
