Beijing: Starting from the autumn semester of 2025, each district will exempt the child care and education fees for one year of preschool education in public and private kindergartens in the city.

The Beijing Municipal Finance Bureau and Beijing Municipal Education Commission have issued the "Implementation Plan for Free Pre-school Education in Beijing". The Plan stipulates that starting from the autumn semester of 2025, each district will exempt the nursery education fees for children in public and private kindergartens in the city for one year before preschool. For the part of the kindergarten's income reduction due to the exemption of nursery education fees, the district finance department will coordinate central, municipal, and district financial subsidies to support kindergartens, ensuring the daily operation and development of preschool education in the region. The financial subsidy funds will be jointly borne by the central, municipal, and district governments. The Municipal Finance Bureau and the Municipal Education Commission will determine the total amount of financial subsidies for each district based on the actual per capita financial subsidy standards for nursery education fees and the corresponding number of children in kindergartens, deducting central financial subsidies, and the municipal and district governments will each bear 50% of the total amount.
