A federal judge in California ruled on Thursday that NVIDIA must stand trial because an engineer inadvertently exposed autonomous driving trade secrets allegedly stolen from a former employer during a video conference. The judge believed there was enough "circumstantial" evidence to show that the Silicon Valley AI giant benefitted from confidential data from Valeo, a European automotive technology company, and therefore had reason to submit the case to a jury trial. NVIDIA denied the accusations of using stolen data to develop its parking assistance technology. However, in Thursday's ruling, U.S. District Judge Noel Wise rejected NVIDIA's request to dismiss Valeo's lawsuit.
