A federal judge in California ruled on Thursday that Nvidia must stand trial because an engineer accidentally exposed during a video conference suspected stolen self-driving trade secrets from a former employer. The judge believed there was enough "indirect" evidence to suggest that the Silicon Valley artificial intelligence giant benefitted from confidential data from European automotive technology company Valeo, and therefore had grounds to have the case proceed to a jury trial. Nvidia has denied the accusations of using stolen data to develop their parking assistance technology. However, in Thursday's ruling, U.S. District Judge Noel Wise rejected Nvidia's motion to dismiss Valeo's lawsuit.
