According to CNBC, the "August Electric Vehicle Intelligence Report" released by political consulting firm Slingshot Strategies shows that among 8,000 surveyed Americans, only 14% of respondents said that fully autonomous driving would make them more likely to purchase a Tesla, while 35% said that the technology would decrease their likelihood of purchasing a Tesla. The remaining 51% of respondents said that whether Tesla supports Full Self-Driving (FSD) functionality does not affect their car purchasing decision. Evan Roth Smith, head of Slingshot's research department, stated that Tesla's marketing lacks clarity and honesty, which could be a factor. Most consumers want the United States to establish clear and strong regulations for autonomous driving cars, whether fully automated or partially automated. Additionally, the survey found that over the past two months, the number of consumers who believe Tesla cars are not safe has increased from 34% to 36%, while the number of consumers who believe Tesla is very safe has decreased from 17% to 13%. Most respondents believe that Honda, Toyota, and Chevrolet are the safest.
