Deputy Director Bai Qingyuan of the State Administration for Market Regulation met with Shi Shuixin, a member of the International Consultation Committee of the China National Institute of Metrology.
On August 26, Bai Qingyuan, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, met with Martin Milton, Director of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, and five other members of the International Consultative Committee attending the 16th meeting of the International Consultative Committee of the China National Institute of Metrology. The two sides exchanged views on the development and cooperation of metrology in China and the world. Bai Qingyuan thanked the committee members for their long-term support and assistance to the development of metrology in China. He stated that metrology, as the science of measurement, inherently requires global equivalence in measurement results, and has a natural gene and requirement for international cooperation. The State Administration for Market Regulation will always support bilateral and multilateral international scientific and technological cooperation in metrology, and support Chinese representatives and metrology technical institutions to make more contributions to the development of international metrology and to jointly address global challenges. The committee members, including Milton, fully acknowledged the achievements of metrology development in China, and look forward to the continued support from the Chinese government for the development of metrology science and international cooperation, and are willing to continue to play a consulting role in this regard. Relevant officials from the State Administration for Market Regulation and its affiliated units attended the meeting.
