According to the Wise Finance app, on Wednesday, Aspen Insurance Holdings (AHL.US) soared over 13% to a historic high of $36.63. On the news front, the company reached an agreement on August 27 to be acquired by Japanese insurance holding company Sompo Holdings at a price of $37.50 per share in cash, with a premium of 35.6% over the unaffected stock price of $27.66 on August 19. The deal is expected to immediately increase the company's return on equity (ROE) after completion and strengthen its market position by integrating with Sompo's global network.
