According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the first 7 months, the overall operation of the telecommunications industry remained stable, with an increase in telecommunications service volume, and continuous progress in the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G, gigabit, and the Internet of Things. In the first 7 months, total telecommunications service revenue reached 1.0431 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year. Calculated using the previous year's constant prices, the total volume of telecommunications services increased by 8.9% year-on-year. As of the end of July, the total number of 5G base stations reached 4.598 million, with a net increase of 348,000 compared to the end of the previous year, accounting for 36% of the total number of mobile base stations, which is an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the first half of the year.
