Affected by Typhoon "Swordfish", heavy rainfall in central Laos triggers floods.
On the morning of August 26th local time, due to the impact of Typhoon "Swordfish", flooding occurred in Xivay village, Sop Cop district, Khammouane province, central Laos, as a result of continuous hours of rainfall, causing low-lying houses and several roads to be submerged. In Wanggu village, Kang district, Bolikhamxay province in central Laos, the flood submerged local bridges, making it impossible for residents to pass. It also rained in the Laotian capital Vientiane that morning. The Laotian Meteorological Department warned that rainfall may increase the risk of flooding. Government agencies remind the public to remain vigilant, pay attention to official information, and take all necessary safety precautions.
