Journalists learned today that the State Administration for Market Regulation has officially released the new mandatory national standard GB 38383-2025 "Energy Efficiency and Water Efficiency Limit Values and Grades for Dishwashers." The standard has been comprehensively optimized and upgraded in terms of technical requirements and index grading, further increasing the requirements for energy efficiency and water efficiency access, and guiding the industry towards high-quality development. The revised standard released this time has a richer application scope, including different installation types such as built-in, standalone, and countertop dishwashers, as well as products with functions such as drying and disinfection, in line with the trend of product diversification in the market. The technical indicators are stricter, with the new standard requiring each grade to be more energy-saving and water-saving compared to the previous version. For example, for a dishwasher that washes 16 sets of tableware, the new Class 1 consumes approximately 10.1 liters of water, reducing water consumption by about 20% compared to the old version, while the new Class 1 consumes about 0.56 kilowatt-hours of electricity, reducing electricity consumption by about 36% compared to the old version. The core performance indicators are more complete, with added noise technical indicators and clear requirements for drying and cleaning indices. After the implementation of the new standard, it will provide technical support for the implementation of the dishwasher energy efficiency and water efficiency labeling system, promote the development of core technologies such as energy saving, water saving, and intelligent washing, drive the development of new products, promote the upgrade of industry technology, and promote the green transformation of the industry.
