Mastercard announced on August 26th that Ari Sarker will step down as President of the Asia Pacific region by the end of this year. After more than ten years in this position, Sarker will transition to an advisory role focusing on strategic initiatives and guiding the regional leadership to ensure a smooth transition. From January 1, 2026, Richard Wormald, the current President of Mastercard Australia, will take over as President of the Asia Pacific region.
