France stirs up political turmoil again, with the CAC40 index opening down 0.9%.

European stocks opened with major stock indexes generally lower. The French CAC40 index fell by 0.9%, the Euro Stoxx 50 index fell by 0.86%, and the German DAX index fell by 0.54%.
