On August 26, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held its routine press conference for August. Jiang Huohua, director of the Water Ecology Environment Bureau, stated that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has always considered the treatment of water pollution in industrial parks as one of the key battles in the fight for clean water. They have focused on two main areas of work. On one hand, they have promoted the improvement of sewage treatment facilities in industrial parks, increasing the daily processing capacity by 60 million tons in over 1200 newly built facilities nationwide. They have also guided more than 700 chemical industrial parks in completing the recognition process. On the other hand, they have worked on ensuring that the sewage treatment facilities in industrial parks are not only built, but also effectively utilized. Special actions have been taken to address water pollution in industrial parks along the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Yellow River provinces, resolving over 3500 issues such as incomplete sewage networks and malfunctioning facilities, leading to an 81% decrease in water-related complaints.
