National Energy Administration: In the first half of this year, the increment of wind and solar power generation exceeded the increment of total electricity consumption in the society.

Du Zhongming, Director of the Electricity Department of the National Energy Administration, introduced during the press conference at the State Council Information Office on the 26th that since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the proportion of non-fossil energy generation in China has increased by more than 5 percentage points. Wind and solar power have fully played the role of the main force in transformation, and in the first half of this year, the incremental increase in wind and solar power generation exceeded the incremental increase in total electricity consumption in society.
